Micky Vegas has been performing Elvis songs for the best part of his life, he became a true fan on that fateful night when The King of Rock n Roll passed away. Micky says "I was thirteen at the time and on holiday with my parents and brother in Southerness on the Solway Firth, Mum and Dad had gone to the campsite club and I was left with my brother to watch TV, the news came on of the sudden death of Elvis Presley, knowing my Mum was a big fan I ran to the club house to tell her, she burst into tears. I had some of his records but from that day on I was a true fan and since that day I have always sung Elvis songs by request at parties. It wasn’t until just recently that, inspired by a dear friend, I decided to do this as a full tribute show"
After entering the 2008 "Walk aGolden Mile in My Shoes" Competition at the Norbeck Hotel in Blackpool in January that Micky was so encouraged by all the other Elvis impersonators attending that competition including the guy who organised it, Michael King, who gave him much more inspiration. This was when Micky took his show and made it his vocation.
Micky says " I have so much enjoyed all the shows I have done so far and every show is so much better than the last, I thoroughly enjoy putting on that famous Aloha suit and getting made up with the wig and jewelrey to look like my Idol, it gives me a buzz every time and when I see the audiance enjoying themselves watching my performance it just gives me a high feeling all night"
